What are TikTok stories?

TikTok stories are short posts, videos or photos, that only stay up for 24 hours. A story can show up in the feed and is marked on the creator's profile picture, then disappears on its own when the time is up. Unlike regular videos, stories don't stay on the profile page.

Because they vanish quickly, a story you want to keep has to be downloaded while it's still active. Unduhin fetches the story file straight from TikTok, so the result is far sharper than a screen recording.

Not every story has a button to copy its link. That's why Unduhin also supports a TikTok story download by username: stories are looked up by the account's username. Type the username, with or without the @, or paste the profile link, such as tiktok.com/@accountname. In other words, it's a TikTok story downloader with username search built in.

Unduhin then shows every story that account still has active, with its cover image, length, and how long ago it was posted. Each story has its own download button, so you choose which ones to save.

Use the username, not the display name. The username is the name starting with @ on the profile page, and it has no spaces. This only works for public accounts.

Watch TikTok stories without the app

The list you get from a username also works as a TikTok story viewer. Tap a story's picture, and the video plays right on this page. It's a handy way to check an account's stories from a browser, without opening the app and without signing in.

Supported links and usernames

For a TikTok story download, Unduhin accepts several kinds of input:

• Short links from the Share button, such as vt.tiktok.com/… or vm.tiktok.com/…
• The full link of a story, such as www.tiktok.com/@name/video/…
• A profile link, such as www.tiktok.com/@name, to show all of that account's active stories
• Just a username, such as @name or name

If the link was copied together with other text, paste all of it; Unduhin picks out the link automatically. Regular video links work here too, so one page covers stories and other videos.

Where do downloaded TikTok stories go?

On Android

Stories save to the Download folder and usually appear in your Gallery right away. If not, open the Files app and look in Download.

On iPhone

Safari saves stories to the Files app, in the Downloads folder. Open the video there, tap the Share icon, then choose Save Video to move it to the Photos app.

On a PC or laptop

Stories save to your browser's download folder, usually Downloads on both Windows and Mac.

Stories not showing or won't download?

• No active stories. The account hasn't posted a story in the last 24 hours, or its stories were deleted.
• Account not found. Check the username's spelling. Make sure you typed the username that starts with @, not the display name.
• Private account. Stories from private accounts can't be viewed or downloaded.
• The service is busy. Wait a few seconds, then press Download once more.
• The video opens in a new tab. Tap the ⋮ menu or press and hold the video, then choose Download.

Respect the story owner's privacy

Stories often show personal moments that were shared on purpose for a short time. Save stories for personal use or when you have permission, and don't re-upload or share other people's stories without their consent.
